Introduced in 1885 by the Sociedad Cabacas y Castro, La Gloria Cubana ("the Glory of Cuba") became shortly famous among cigar smokers for their excellent aroma, strength and palate. La Gloria Cubana has medium strength and it is one of the few brands which is only handmade.
Although developed by Jose Rocha and Rafael Garcia, the brand became shortly well-known thanks to an intensive promotion by Pepin Fernandez, owner of the Romeo y Julieta brand, who helped his friends introduce the La Gloria Cubana brand overseas.
