RadioShack Big Ride Across America departs from Seattle on June 19th and makes its way across the Rockies, the Great Plains, the Mid-West, and the Alleghenies and ends up in Washington, DC on August 5th. The Big Ride crew, mostly volunteers, will use amateur radio to communicate from camp to camp and vehicle to vehicle to support the riders as they move an average of 80 miles a day. The ``mobile city'' of gear trucks, support vehicles, tents, catering wagons, showers and crew, spread out over many acres, will use RadioShack short-range two-way personal family radios to communicate.
